Formula 1 in Schools is a global competition that challenges students to design, build, and race miniature Formula 1 cars using real-world engineering tools and principles. In 2024, for the first time, the international finals were hosted in Saudi Arabia—a historic milestone for the region and a proud moment for all involved.

With four Saudi teams making it to the global finals, this event marked a significant achievement for local talent. We were honored to be selected by Ithra’s marketing team, in collaboration with Aramco, to create a unique promotional video that would capture the energy, creativity, and ambition of the competition.

To bring this vision to life, our team conceptualized and delivered a hybrid promo that merged live-action filming with frame-by-frame anime-style animation. The live shoots took place across multiple cities, capturing the passion, teamwork, and determination of the students preparing for the finals. Meanwhile, our animation team spent nearly a month crafting hand-drawn anime sequences that visually represented the race, the teams, and the thrilling spirit of Formula 1.

This promo wasn’t just another project—it was a mutual passion piece, blending our team’s love for motorsport and storytelling with Ithra’s vision for something bold and original. Throughout the process, we worked hand in hand with Ithra’s marketing team, receiving their input and feedback to ensure the final product aligned perfectly with their message.
